Manchester United are set to sign a world record kit deal with Adidas who will take over from Nike in 2015.
According to reports, Adidas believes that €73m deal has been all but agreed as the Red Devils failed to reach an agreement with Nike.
Nike has been club kit sponsor for over the past decade since 2002 but it looks highly likely that the tenure is coming to end.
As per the provided link the Manchester United officials had a meeting with Adidas staff in Germany after their second leg against European champions Bayern that they lost.
Moreover, Adidas representatives have been attending the games at Old Trafford and talks have continued to reach a fruitful point.
Talks have been on going with Nike for no less than three years as well but with them failing to reach an agreement, other companies jumped in.
Even though Manchester United have been horrific this season and will not be playing Champions league football yet adidas is ready to complete the biggest football club kit deal in history.
Not to forget, Adidas did not offer Liverpool a better deal few years back because they were not able to qualify for CL and hence Warrior took over.
For now United’s brand power remains high but if the performance decline continues, Adidas may feel that they made the wrong decision.
