Liverpool may have Glen Johnson back in training and fit to play against Newcastle, however, they have suffered a fresh injury blow.
Reds’s summer signing Iago Aspas suffered injury during training and perhaps will be out for 5 weeks.
The Spaniard tweeted on his official account.
Reds will soon have Coutinho back and youngsters like Ibe and Sterling are there in the backup to help in attack.
Still, Aspas was finding it hard to start for Reds and this injury will surely not help him, just as it happened with Borini who was injured early on in his Liverpool career.
The former Celta Vigo attacker has started 4 league games for the Reds and recently complained about his lack of first team football.
Liverpool will face Newcastle United tomorrow, a fixture they are considered favorites to win.
The last time they played at St. James’ park, NUFC were dismantled by the Reds 6-0 with Sturridge and Henderson grabbing two goals each.
Rodgers should not have any selection dilemma for the starting XI with Aspas injured as he kept Spaniard on the bench for the last two premier league games.
However, the injury influences Liverpool’s depth adversely.
