Liverpool’s Quality Undid Sunderland’s Hard Work

Black Cats were bright under the new interim manager but in the end Liverpool’s quality undid all of Sunderland’s hard work.
Stats do not suggest that Liverpool completely dominated the game, but the presence of top quality stars upfront, Sturridge and Suarez proved too much for the home side.
Sturridge’s arm goal meant that for now he is the leading scorer in the premier league. Apart from that, he provided two top draw assists to Luis Suarez who made no mistake in tapping the ball in the net twice.
Sunderland bombarded Liverpool’s defense with attack after attack especially in the second half but did not have the cutting edge.
The home side made 23 attempts on goal as compared to Liverpool’s 15, yet could only score a single goal on the day.
Liverpool have finally scored in the second half of a game for the first time this season.
More importantly, three points in the bag and Arsenal only two ahead.
