Classic – Torres's Liverpool Goals vs Manchester United

Classic - Torres's Liverpool Goals vs Manchester UnitedWe are starting a new activity of going back into time and providing you with Classic goals on regular basis. Today we have none other than Chelsea striker and former Liverpool superstar Fernando Torres’s all goals that he scored against Manchester United with the Reds.
Former Liverpool number 9 was an icon during his time at Anfield. The song made for him stated “We bought the lad from Sunny Spain, he gets the ball and scores again” perfectly suited the Spaniard who was arguably one of the best strikers in the world with Liverpool.
El Nino left for Chelsea in January 2011 and since his move, he has clearly never been able to find the form that made him an absolute nightmare for the defenders. Enjoy the Goals.

Torres scored his first goal against Red Devils in 2008-09 season, Liverpool’s best ever premier league campaign under Rafa Benitez and arguably with their strongest premier league squad to date. Liverpool ran out 4-1 winners on the day as Torres revived Reds by cancelling out Cristiano Ronaldo’s opener.
The Second was scored at Anfield infront of the Kop. United were 7 points clear of Liverpool and the reds just had to win the game. It was Torres once again who broke the offside trap, held off Ferdinand and smahed the ball on the roof of the net. Liverpool won the match 2-0 as N’gog later on added a second.
His last goal for Reds against their arch rivals was scored at Old Trafford. United were clear favorites to win the game as Liverpool had an average season. However, the visitors attacked United from the word go and were rewarded with a goal in the opening five minutes. Torres started the move by winning the ball in the center of the park and finished it with a sublime header from Dirk Kuyt’s cross. Nevertheless, United won that game 2-1.

You show these goals to someone who has probably started watching football over the past 2 3 years, He will not believe that Torres was ever able to score such goals

Obviously some supporters have no idea of the truth about behind Torres’ exit from Anfield. The Present owners of the club wanted the 50mil from his sale and forced him into asking for a transfer,HE DID NOT WANT TO GO! Their promises to him of new worthwhile recruitments did not happen! He requested a transfer only a few short minutes before the transfer window ended because promises were not kept! They got the 50mil that they wanted but then payed the price when Newcastle owner sqeezed 35mil out of them for Carrol with only a couple of minutes left of the transfer window!
