The Right Price for Wayne Rooney

Arsenal and Chelsea have reportedly revived their interest in Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney as the England International nears exit from Old Trafford as David Moyes takes charge.
The Red Devils already have top strikers at their disposal and are also linked with new ones as well. If things do not turn well between the new manager and Wayne Rooney then Manchester United will lose one of their most important players of the past few years.
The question is, if after all United have no other option but to sell him then, What is the right price for Wayne Rooney?
In England, the battle is between the Londoners Chelsea and Arsenal. Given that Blues have more tendency to pay Rooney’s asking price and wages, they may as well be favorites to edge Arsenal for United star.
Although, many other top clubs are interested in signing Rooney but perhaps the former Evertonian will favor a move to stay in England. Adding to that, his admiration for Chelsea’s manager Jose Mourinho may suggest that he will likely leave for Chelsea.
For now, reports indicate that Roman Abramovich is ready to offer 20 million pounds to lure the England international to Stamford Bridge.
However, will that sum convince United as they signed a very young Rooney for over 25 million pounds in 2004-05 season and now he is clearly a better player. On the other hand, the English star will turn 28 this year so they may as well consider Chelsea’s offer.
