Liverpool Football Club have already done considerable business in the summer transfer market despite the fact that the International transfer season will start in a week on 1st July.
The merseysiders have secured three incoming transfers of a defender, a midfielder and a forward i.e. Kolo Toure, Luis Alberto and Iago Aspas. Although Reds have agreed three deals that soon but the question is, will anyone of them start? Or are they only going to make the bench?
Liverpool supporters are overjoyed by the way club is doing business as of now and it is understandable that good performances can/will earn playing time, but can the mentioned players get straight into the starting lineup?
The former Arsenal and Manchester City defender can prove to be fruitful for the reds, however his best days are surely behind him. The Ivorian may as well be a short-term solution for Liverpool as far as replacing Carragher is concerned.
On the other hand, Skrtel has been average last season and therefore Liverpool may look to sign another quality defender. If they do sign one, in that case, will Kolo Toure be starting (alongside Agger) or perhaps be benched?
Liverpool completed Aspas signing yesterday. The versatile Spanish attacker was impressive in his first season in La Liga with Celta Vigo. He can play as a central striker and as an out wide player as well.
However, Brendan Rodgers has numerous quality attacking options upfront. Coutinho and Sturridge have been outstanding to say the least since they joined Anfield side in January. Keeping them out of the starting lineup is highly unlikely. Adding to that, in case their player of the season Luis Suarez stays, then he will surely be in the starting XI.
Liverpool play 4-3-3, and since January, Rodgers’s front three have mostly been (Coutinho, Sturridge, Suarez) (Coutinho, Suarez, Downing) and lastly when Suarez was banned (Coutinho, Sturridge, Downing). Considering that formation and presence of other stars like Assaidi, will Aspas probably start from the bench?
Another young and exciting talent signed by Liverpool lately. Someone who played last season in Spain’s second division, has very little experience of La Liga (7 games) and moving to Merseyside is a huge step perhaps too early? Nevertheless, Luis Alberto may prove the doubters wrong with his abilities.
Keeping the mentioned aspects aside, Alberto can play as a left forward, false nine as well as behind the striker. In the mentioned positions, he will probably face the same dilemma as Iago Aspas when it comes to starting role. On the other hand, the Reds already have two exciting young talents that can play in his position as well i.e. Sterling and Suso.
One may say that a manager always prefers his signing and Brendan Rodgers did that with Joe Allen, contrary to that he rarely used Assaidi even though the Moroccan did well in his outings.
The manager praised all new signings claiming that they are hungry players and will help Liverpool move forward. The question about who will start, we shall know the answer when the season starts.
Kolo Toure will start
Rodgers can change formation from 433 to 352
Alberto as Rodgers said can be new Coutinho will be given chance
Aspas will most likely be on bench if Suarez stays and come on if one of COutinho sturridge or Luis is playing bad. If Suarez leaves then Aspas is in provided we do not replace Suarez with a big name which we actualy should
Maybe Downing will get much less game time.
Alberto might start on bench and he should but if you are thinking Aspas will be benched instead of downing then u dont understand anything about football let me make it clear BR doesnt rate downing at all and wanted him to move on and that will happen between 7-9 mill and that will be good piece of business as aspas is a greater threat has pace which is the most required thing in epl and on top of that has good vision and skill to go past defenders downing is one dimension so the front four of our team will be Suarez sturridge Aspas and coutinho behind them and it would be great if we get our hands on Erikssen and he can play well with lucas when gerrard is injured or he is already better than him.
As 4 me after signing all d players we link to include Mkhitaryan, papa and ilori and if Suarez stay. My own starting XI should be like this. mignolet, Johnson, Aggar, Erique, Gerrard, Lucas Mkhitaryn, Coutinho,Sturidge and Suarez and if Suarez leave Aspas will replace him or any his Replacement. My bench players is Johns,Kelly, Toure,Ilori, Robinson, Allen,Henderson,Alberto, Sterlling, Aspas.
Interesting line-up you suggest here with only one centre-back in it. I’m looking forward to seeing how Agger, or Aggar as you call him, will cope as soon as the opponents play 4-4-2.
Your starting 11 only has 10 ! You only have 1 centre back.
“…and presence of other stars like Assaidi”.
rofl
Assaidi. Star. Was that meant to be sarcasm?
Reina/mignolet

Gerald Lucas alberto

if there is any new signing they can be fixed in according to there position and abilities…… The coach knows best….lfc 4 life
And what happens if we do get Mkhitrayen? More headaches lol!
Aspas n Alberto will by all means get ahead of downing n henderson.
Bench warmers! oh no. do you forget that there are a lot of games to play in one season. 38 in the epl. there is also the league cup and the FA cup. How far you progressed in these competitions depends on your squad depth. I believe all our signings will have a decent game time provided that they take their chances when the manager drafts them in.
In fact i still believe that we need to sign two or three more players so that there can be competition in all departments in the field.
Liverpool for life
