Can Arsenal Overtake Stumbling Spurs Again?

Two weeks back, Tottenham defeated Arsenal to go seven points clear of their archrivals. Since then Spurs have lost two consecutive league games and the gunners are back in contention for the final Champions League place. Can Arsenal overtake stumbling spurs again?
Last year, under the management of Harry Redknapp, Spurs had a blistering first half of the season and were on their way to finish above Arsenal for the first time in Wenger’s era. However, Arsenal ripped teams apart in the second half of the season as Spurs let slip massive lead and once again ended up behind Gunners.
Currently Arsenal are four points behind Tottenham with a game in hand. As discussed previously, looking at their remaining fixtures, Arsenal have relatively much easier ride than their rivals and have all the chance to overtake Spurs and finish in the top 4 yet again.
Having lost to an in form Liverpool side at Anfield last week and somehow crawling past Inter Milan in Europa League, Tottenham were in bad form to say the least. However, they were favorites going into the fixture at White Hart Lane against Fulham who were in the bottom half of the table. Sadly, old boy Berbatov returned to haunt the home fans and win it for the visitors.
The defeat at the hands of Fulham has not only allowed Arsenal an opportunity to catch Spurs but even Chelsea has overtaken them to occupy third place in the league i.e. the last place that guarantees automatic qualification in the Champions League.
Having lost a place in Europe’s elite competition last season even after finishing fourth, Spurs will have to hit form now if they are to play in next year’s competition. Surely, this time they do not have to worry about an English team winning the Champions League that may oust Spurs as all of them were eliminated.
For Arsenal, their valiant effort against Bayern has revived the side and their sole focus is on the league as they are out of all cup competitions now. On the other hand, Spurs are still competing in the Europa League that may as well tire the players and give Arsenal the edge in the race for fourth place.
