At the weekend, Arsenal suffered yet another shocking defeat in the Premier League and they are now 9 points behind league leaders Manchester City.
The Gunners failed to adequately strengthen their squad in the summer transfer window and the results have not been fruitful.
To make matters worse, reports suggest that star playmakers Ozil and Alexis could exit the club in the January transfer window.
According to Mirror, the duo may depart and Arsenal are looking to reinforce their attack by signing Leciester City star Riyad Mahrez, who is rated around 30 million pounds ($40million).
In my opinion, Ozil has had enough chances and he has been inconsistent. The German international must depart and Arsenal have to splash the cash to agree the signing of Mahrez in January.
The 26-year-old playmaker is a proven quality star, who became the first African player to win the PFA Player of the Year award for his brilliant performances in the 2015-16 campaign.
This season, so far, the Algerian international has featured in 7 league games for the Foxes and provided 2 assists. His current deal will expire in 2020 and he is earning around £100,000-a-week (Star).
As per the provided Mirror link, Mahrez would welcome a move to London but the Gunners should be worried about arch rivals Tottenham, who are interested in signing him as well and could guarantee him Champions League football this season.
In your opinion, is Mahrez good enough to improve Arsenal’s attack?
