Liverpool were seriously interested in hiring the services of French international and Monaco star Thomas Lemar in the summer transfer window.
However, the Reds could not secure any deal with the French club and then ended up luring English midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal on deadline day.
If the latest reports are anything to go by then the Merseysiders are still interested in signing Lemar.
According to Mirror, Liverpool and Arsenal are ready to battle to sign the 21-year-old playmaker next summer.

Lemar was in top form for the Ligue 1 side last season. He netted 9 goals and provided 11 assists in Monaco’s title winning campaign.
However, this season, he has not hit top form as yet. He is yet to open his account and has only provided 2 assists in 9 appearances in all competitions.
Liverpool’s star attacker Coutinho was mainly linked with a move to Barca in the summer but the Merseysiders opted to keep their prized asset. The Brazilian international is still linked with the Catalan giants and it will not be shocking to see him leave the Anfield club next summer.
If that happens, Liverpool will likely get a huge amount that must be used to sign a top replacement in the form of Lemar. In your opinion, is Thomas good enough to replace Coutinho?
