Manchester United registered their place in the next season’s Champions League after beating Ajax in the Europa League final last night.
The top stars want to play in Europe’s elite competition, hence, earning CL qualification is a major achievement for the Red Devils.
The Old Trafford club have been heavily linked with Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann and the latest reports suggest that they are willing to offer him a huge deal to sign this summer.
According to Spanish source Marca, Manchester United are ready to sign a deal worth $15.6million-a-year ($300,000-a-week) with the former Real Sociedad attacker, who has a mammoth release clause of 100 million euros ($112million) in his contract.
The French international is one of the best playmakers in the world and his signing will largely amplify the quality of Mourinho’s team, who finished 6th in the Barclays Premier League.
In the recently concluded La Liga campaign, Griezmann scored 16 goals and provided 8 assists in 36 outings. Overall, in 53 games, he scored 23 goals and provided 12 assists.
Griezmann can be deployed anywhere in the attacking third but he usually plays as a secondary striker and as a center forward. It will be intriguing to see how Jose will line up with Antoine, if he does end up moving to Manchester United.
