Liverpool seriously need to reinforce their back line if they are to have any chance of winning the Premier League title next season.
The Reds have been heavily linked with a move to sign (via Read Liverpool) Southampton star Virgil van Dijk but he is not the only Saints player eyed by the Merseysiders.
According to reports, former Chelsea left back, Ryan Bertrand, is in the limelight as well and Klopp is clear to secure his signature because the player wants to leave the club in the summer.
As per Mirror, Liverpool and Chelsea are interested in signing the 27-year-old England international, who has told his teammates that he is ready to exit Southampton.
Over the years, the Anfield club have signed a lot of players from the Saints. In their current squad, the likes of Lovren, Lallana, Clyne and Mane were lured from Southampton.
Since leaving the Stamford Bridge club, Bertrand has established himself as one of the most consistent left backs in the country. Moreover, he has been productive in the attacking third as well.
In the current campaign, the former Blues defender has so far featured in 24 league games under the management of French boss Claude Puel, scored 2 goals and also provided 5 assists.
Ryan has the quality to solve Liverpool’s LB dilemma and joining the Reds seems like a beneficial move for him because Klopp needs for a first choice natural left back. At Chelsea, Alonso is the first choice LB and even Azpilicueta can play in that position.
Bertrand’s current contract with the Saints will expire in 2021 and he is valued at 25.2million euros ($28million) as per CIES Football Observatory. In your opinion, should Ryan join Liverpool or Chelsea?

Hope Liverpool don’t make the same mistake like the 2014-2015 season when they last qualified for the champions league. They sold saurez and the bort alot of players who was average, now Barcelona wants our best player again it’s like watching a play back over and over again. I feel the owners needs to grow some balls and keep all our good players and strengthen with a few top players and dominate teams for a few years,I’m tired of seeing Liverpool do well one season sell they best players and they have to start building they squad all over again, to be honest I feel they use that as an excuse for all they shortcomings. And about the topic on this article liverpool don’t need Bertrand they need a more powerful player we have Clyne on right back position will he is fast and intelligent he has a weak fersuqie so I think another weak player on the left won’t help the situation because Liverpool conceed to many goals from set plays opposition sides have it to easy with they defence, they need some strong well built players to help for sets plays and to also help score at the other end from set plays Liverpool hardly scores from coner kicks.
