Not Antoine/Belotti – Man Utd Clear to Finally Agree £68million Star Signing

Manchester United are heavily linked with highly rated stars and one of them is Portuguese right back Nelson Semedo.
The Red Devils wanted to secure the signature of the 23-year-old Benfica star back in the winter transfer window as well but the Primeira Liga giants were not ready to sell. Moreover, it was reported that United have reached an agreement to sign him in the summer window (via ES).
German champions, Bayern Munich, have also been interested in hiring the services of the talented Seleccao star but if the latest reports are anything to go by then the Bundesliga club are not ready to meet his asking price and United are clear to sign him.
According to reports (SW via Record), Bayern rate Nelson around 20 million euros and are not prepared to pay Benfica’s asking price of 35 million euros. On the other hand, the report states that the Red Devils will have no problem in paying that sum.
Valencia has been fantastic for Manchester United in the right back position but Mourinho needs someone, who would replace the veteran Ecuadorian and serve the club in the years to come.
In such a scenario, Semedo perfectly fits the bill. He is not only solid at the back but also productive in the attacking department. This season, he has so far featured in 44 games for Benfica and directly contributed in no fewer than 13 goals (2 goals and 11 assists).
His current contract with the Primeira Liga leaders will expire in 2021 and as per the provided SW link, the deal has a release clause of 80 million euros (£68million).
