Liverpool have been poor in the defensive third under the management of Klopp and the German boss needs to solve the problem by signing a top DM in the summer transfer window.
However, as per reports, the Reds have been interested in signing a versatile midfielder in the form of RB Leipzig star Naby Keita.
According to an exclusive report covered by Football Whispers, Liverpool have moved in and held talks with the 22-year-old Guinea star all season long to agree his signing this summer.
Naby has been in top form for the German side in the current campaign. In 27 league appearances, he has netted 8 goals and provided 8 assists. He is valued (TMW) at around 30 million euros ($33million)
Editor of German magazine Kicker, Jörg Jakob, has been heavily impressed and recently stated (Via Liverpool Echo).
“When we did our rankings after the first half of the season, he was one of the outstanding players for Kicker magazine.”
Keita can play anywhere in the midfield but mainly he is a creative central midfielder. The Merseysiders already have stars like Wijnaldum, Can and Lallana in the center of the park to create chances. Do they really need another midfielder of that kind?
Lucas Leiva may as well leave the club this summer and Klopp desperately needs someone, who could break play and form a solid cover in front of the back four.
In your opinion, should Liverpool sign Keita or a proven quality DM?
