Manchester United must sign top level players in the summer transfer window to progress next season. Moreover, they must also hold onto the key players in the current squad and Mourinho is doing exactly that.
Back in January, Marouane Fellaini agreed a contract extension with the club and now Jesse Lingard has singed a new four year deal with the option of a further year extension.
The England international rose to fame last season when Louis van Gaal was in charge of the club and he is considered as an important member of the team by Mourinho (Official) as well.
According to Sky Sports, the 24-year-old attacking midfielder has trebled his wages and will now earn around £100,000-a-week, £20.8million ($26million) in four years.
He is mainly a right winger but can effectively be deployed in any attacking position. In the presence of star players like Mata, Mkhitaryan and Martial, Lingard has been in and out of the starting lineup.
In the current campaign, he has started 18 games (29 appearances) for the Old Trafford club, scored 5 goals and provided 3 assists.
