Manchester United and Chelsea have been tracking French international and Monaco star Tiemoue Bakayoko for quite some time.
If the latest reports are anything to go by then that the Blues are closer to securing his signature.
According to renowned Spanish journalist Guillem Balague, the 22-year-old Les Bleus defensive midfielder has agreed personal terms with the Stamford Bridge club, who now have to pay more than any other club to hire his services.
Bakayoko’s contract will expire in 2019 and he has recently rejected a contract extension. Chelsea have moved in with an offer of 32 million pounds (Mirror) but the Ligue 1 leaders rate him very highly.
Earlier this month, we covered a report (via FootMercato) claiming that United and Chelsea are interested in Tiemoue and Monaco want at least €60million for their prized asset.
Conte lured N’Golo Kante last summer and like last season, the former Leicester City star has performed brilliantly. Kante plays in a more free role, where he does step up in the attack as well.
Chelsea’s main holding midfield star is Nemanja Matic, who is also a top class player. Therefore, Bakayoko’s arrival will make Conte’s midfield even stronger.
This season, the former Rennais midfielder has featured in 41 games for Monaco, scored 3 goals and provided an assist.
