If reports in the media are anything to go by then Manchester United are clearly in love with Atletico Madrid stars and want to sign three of them who have a combined worth of €260million.
We covered a report yesterday (via Independent) claiming that the Red Devils have verbally agreed wages and shirt number with Antoine Griezmann who has a release clause of 100 million euros in his contract.
The French international is not the only Atletico star wanted by the Old Trafford club. According to reports in Spain, United are also interested in the likes of Kevin Gameiro and Yannick Carrasco.
Don Balon reported yesterday that the Belgian playmaker is on Man United’s radar and he also has a release clause of 100 million euros in his contract.
The former Monaco playmaker has scored 10 goals and provided 3 assists in 25 games for the La Liga side this season.
As far as Gameiro is concerned, Don Balon claimed that United and PSG are interested in signing the French striker who has a release clause of 60 million euros.
The Les Bleus forward won three Europa League titles with Sevilla before joining Atletico last summer. This season, he has scored 6 goals and provided 4 assists in 18 league appearances for Diego Simeone’s team.
Apart from the above mentioned trio, the fans must not forget that United have been linked with another Atletico star in the form of Saul Niguez (via The Times).
Mourinho has got a very strong attacking midfield at his disposal and he really does not need to sign more than one quality playmaker next summer. In your opinion, should United sign Griezmann or Carrasco or Niguez?
As far as the strike-force is concerned, Ibrahimovic is doing wonders at Old Trafford and United want to keep him for the next two years (via The Sun). The Red Devils should focus on the future as well and must look to sign a young center forward and not Gameiro who will turn 30 in a few months.
