The transfer saga surrounding Victor Lindelof is taking new twists almost every single day. The latest rumors will surely confuse everyone.
Two days back, we covered a report (via Express) claiming that Jose Mourinho is on the verge of agreeing a deal worth 38 million pounds to bring the Swedish international to Old Trafford.
The move was delayed because Benfica were refusing to make a certain payment to Lindelof’s former club Vasteras. However, Mirror confirmed that the payment issue was resolved as well.
Now, Portuguese media outlet Record have claimed in an exclusive report that the 22-year-old defender can stay at Benfica until summer because at the moment, Manchester United are not ready to pay a sum over €30million for him.
There are other reports suggesting that Manchester United are ready to break the bank and make a move of 47.6 million pounds (via The Sun) to hire the services of Roma star Kostas Manloas.
Why are United ready to offer over €50million for the Greek international but not even €30million for Lindelof? Victor is a rising top quality center half. On the other hand, 25-year-old Manolas is one of the best defenders around who is currently performing at the peak of his game.
It is quite possible that the Red Devils are no longer interested in Lindelof and think that Manolas is better
We shall see how the transfer saga unfolds in the coming weeks.
