Despite losing to Tottenham few days ago, Chelsea are still on top of the Premier League table with a five point lead over nearest rivals Liverpool.
Manager Antonio Conte wants to strengthen his squad in the winter transfer window and he is looking to sign a new striker.
According to reports (the Sun via Fabrizio Romano), Chelsea are in talks to sign 31-year-old Swansea City striker Fernando Llorente.
At the moment, Chelsea have the best striker in the PL in the form of Diego Costa. Adding to that, they also have a quality backup striker like Michy Batshuayi who signed last summer. However, the Belgian goalscorer has mainly warmed the bench this season.
As per the provided Sun link, Conte is considering to loan out Michy and replace him with Llorente. Adding to that even the former Athletic Bilbao star is keen on joining the Blues. He was signed by Juventus when Conte was in charge of the club and now the Italian boss is looking for a re-union.
Fernando Llorente is a decorated star who has won major prizes in his career (club and country). He has won the World Cup and the European Championship with the national team. Moreover, he won multiple Serie A titles with Juve and won the Europa League with Sevilla last season.
The Spanish center forward joined Swansea last summer and has scored 6 goals in 13 league starts for the relegation threatened side so far.
