Man United are interested in signing a new central defender in the winter transfer window and if reports are anything to go by then they are closing in on signing a top quality player in the form of Victor Lindelof.
Yesterday, we covered a report from Mirror claiming that manager Jose Mourinho has made the Swedish international his top transfer target.
The Red Devils have been tracking the Benfica center half for quite some time and think that he can largely improve the quality of their back line.
Now, Mirror have provided an update and reported that Manchester United have actually moved in an made an offer of 38 million pounds ($47million) to sign the highly rated 22-year-old star next month.
The young defender made his senior debut for the national side back in March 2016 and since then he has featured in 11 games for Sweden and scored one goal. This season, he has played 21 games for the Primeira Liga champions.
As per the provided Mirror link, Lindelof will have a buy out clause of 30 million pounds in his contract next summer but United are not looking to wait and want to secure his signature in the upcoming winter transfer window.
United have more than a few quality center halves such as the likes of Jones, Rojo, Blind, Smalling and summer signing Bailly.
If Lindelof is lured then it will not come as any surprise if Mourinho looks to offload someone as well.
