Manchester United failed to hold onto their one goal lead against Arsenal yesterday and earned only a single point at Old Trafford yet again. The Red Devils have now drawn their last three home fixtures in the league.
Jose Mourinho was without few of his key players for the game against the North Londoners but United performed really well and should have earned all three points.
First choice defenders Smalling and summer signing Bailly are out with injuries at the moment and United badly miss them.
There were rumors that Mourinho has problems with Smalling but the truth is that the 26-year-old England international is out with a broken toe and will only return next month (PhysioRoom).
Moreover, if reports in the media are anything to by then Smalling is currently in talks with Manchester United and he is set to agree a new deal (The Sun).
Smalling currently earns £80,000-a-week ($99,000-a-week) and the deal will expire in 2019 (Daily Mail) . The former Fulham defender won Man United’s Players’ Player of the Year award for his brilliant performances under the management of Louis van Gaal last season and surely deserves a new contract.
