Tottenham have so far failed to agree a new contract with star striker Harry Kane and Manchester United may just take advantage of the situation and sign the England international.
After signing top players in the summer transfer window, Manchester United have been mediocre so far this season under the management of Jose Mourinho.
The former Porto manager is already looking to further strengthen his squad and more than a few quality stars are in the limelight.
As far as the strike-force is concerned, once again Harry Kane is heavily linked. United were interested in signing him when Van Gaal was in charge but the move did not happen.
Few days back, Squawka reported that the Red Devils are ready to finally sign Kane by handing him a contract that will more than double his wages and make him earn more than £150,000-a-week ($185,000-a-week).
Yesterday, Mirror also reported that Mourinho is looking to sign a new striker for the long term and United are monitoring Harry Kane.
The 23-year-old star was the top goalscorer in the Premier League last season.
Spurs must act swiftly and seal a new deal with Kane or it will not come as any surprise if their prized asset departs White Hart Lane.

WTF? You cannot be serious!
The media obsessing over the revival of their role as United’s Tapper-Uppers in Chief is not quite the same thing Kane being’heavily’ linked. The latter would be if United had made several public bids, In Kane had said his position was untenable or that he wanted a move to United. All we have had is some sensationalist headlines that don’t in any way match the small amount of information there is.
And that is: contract negotiations are ongoing. That’s it. The players who’ve recently signed new contracts, did they all immediately sign the first offer that was made? Or were there…Dan Dan Dan Dan DAN… negotiations? Because the word from within the club is that there has been an agreed lull to negotiations, but everything is fine.
When will these people understand? Harry Kane is a lifelong Spurs fan who has stated publicly that he hopes to finish his career with Spurs. Spurs have a new stadium underway that will allow them to be far more competitive with wages. He has four years left on his contract! He can afford to wait until a couple of years after the stadium is completed, see if Spurs have a winning team and are more competitive with wages – and leave at the peak of his career. And why the obsession with United? If Spurs were to sell him , they could auction him to the highest bidder – apart, maybe, United as Daniel Levy will neither forget nor forgive United for their behaviour over Dimitar Berbatov.
In the last month the media have tried to weave Lamela, Vertonghen, Lloris and Kane into a Spurs crisis narrative because they haven’t immediately signed a new contract. With the added juice with Kane that it absolutely must be United he signs for and for the joke figure of £50 million! Numpties!
Adding kane would big boost to the squad
It is not just about personnel style and tactics are important, it is about getting the best out of what you have and making it unbeatable. Ferguson did it in his last season with players no where near world class but certainly United.
