After failing to win the league title last season, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is looking to improve the overall quality of the squad this summer.
The Gunners have already signed a top midfielder in the form of Swiss international Granit Xhaka. As far as the attack is concerned, reports suggest that Arsenal are clear to seal the signing of Celta Vigo attacker Nolito.
The North Londoners were interested in signing him last year (Talksport via Mundo Deportivo) as well but the 29-year-old winger eventually stayed with the Spanish side.
Now, according to the latest comments made by the president of Celta Vigo (Daily Star), the La Roja star can finally be lured for a fee of €18 million ($20 million). Mourino told:
“I think that Nolito will leave Celta this year.”
“There are no numbers, no negotiations. He has a buy-out clause of €18m (£13.8m). Who pays it can sign him.”
Last season, the Spanish international featured in 29 league games for Celta Vigo and directly contributed in no fewer than 19 goals (12 goals and 7 assists).
His quality performances deservedly earned him a place in the national side for the European Championships. Nolito scored in his second game of the Euro 2016 against Turkey and helped the nation qualify for the KO stages of the competition.
Is a striker like Nolito good enough to partner Giroud?! Are they not of equal pedigree? Anyway, Wenger knows better.
arsenal realy need top 9 finisher better than giroid to seal up premier legue and champions league in the coming new season.
