Arsenal are looking to strengthen their strike-force this summer and want to lure a proven quality goalscorer.
One such star who has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates is Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy.
Few days back there were reports in the media claiming that the 29-year-old England international’s move to Arsenal is off after he rejected a medical with the club (Mirror via Talksport).
However, the latest statement made by the Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri (Football Italia via Sky Sports Italia) confirms that the Premier League star could still seal a move to Arsenal this summer.
The former Chelsea manager claimed:
“We want to keep him (Vardy), Arsenal have said they will pay the full release clause, but he hasn’t accepted yet. He gets the last word.”
The statement confirms that Jamie has not rejected a move to Arsenal yet and still has to decide. Vardy is currently on international duty with England at the European Championships in France. It will not come as any surprise if he makes the decision after the competition concludes.
Vardy is a “spectacular” star (Mail) who netted 24 league goals to help Leciester win the title last season. Since the departure of RvP, no Arsenal player has been able to score 20 league goals in a season.

It is not cybernetics for Jamie Vardy to decide whether he wants to stay at Leicester City’s or move to Arsenal. By doing so he is wasting the time and chances for both clubs to sign an alternative player. Jamie Vardy will be 30 years old in few months and he will not be getting any stronger. I believe he should stick where he made his name and knows their style and they know his. Moving to Arsenal will be a new Environment and new experience and there is no guarantee that he will succeed there taking his age into consideration.
