1. FC Heidenheim is still in the upper half of the standings in the German 2nd Bundesliga (6-7-5 28-19), but there is a visible decline in the form of this team over the last month, as the hosts have won only two points from the last four rounds (0-2-2 1-4) and lost 0-1 in their last match at “Voith-Arena” against a mediocre team like VfR Aalen (1. FC Heidenheim – VfR Aalen 0-1 on 05.12.2014).

Eintracht Braunschweig, on the other hand, obviously have ambitions for an immediate return in 1st Bundesliga and it seems, that this team overcame its problems from the start of the season with six victories, two draws and only one defeat in the last nine rounds (6-2-1 15-8).

There is no doubt, that Eintracht Braunschweig is a team with bigger potential, compared with 1. FC Heidenheim, but I have an additional reason for my bet.

The hosts will be without four important players for this clash.The backbone of their defense is missing – Jan Zimmermann (first goalkeeper), Mathias Wittek (defender) and Kevin Kraus (defender / 1 goals) – while Adriano Grimaldi (striker / 1 goals) is doubtful.

Unlike their opponents, the visitors have no problems with injured or suspended players ahead of this clash.

It should be noted, that 1. FC Heidenheim is among the favorite opponents for Eintracht Braunschweig over the last couple of years, as the Yellow-Blues have won four of the previous five games between these two teams (4-1-0 12-2), including their two visits at ““Voith-Arena” in this period (1. FC Heidenheim – Eintracht Braunschweig 0-1 on 30.03.2010 ; 1. FC Heidenheim – Eintracht Braunschweig 1-4 on 05.12.2010).
