Arsenal have Agreed $30.2million Deal with Quality Star

Arsenal FCOver the past few days, Arsenal have been heavily linked with Leicester City star striker Jamie Vardy and it looks highly likely that the England international will join the North London club in the summer transfer window.
There have been various reports in the media claiming that Arsenal have met the release clause in Vardy’s contract and offered him a mammoth deal as well.
On the other hand, Squawka have revealed that the 29-year-old forward has agreed personal terms with the Gunners.
As per the provided Squawka link, Arsenal and Vardy have agreed a deal that will make the forward earn £100,000-a-week, £20.8 million ($30.2 million) in four years.
There are other reports (The Guardian) suggesting that any sort of formal announcement will be made by the player after the European Championships in France.
Vardy scored 24 league goals for the Foxes last season and will largely improve the quality of Arsenal’s strike-force.

Players like Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez deserve to be at a club bringing in Aubameyang type signings not Jamie Bloody Vardy(29). What is going on. Nothing changes.
The same old Arsenal and Wenger. It is time to say g…..bye.

  2. Atom Atomicity says:

Bring in morata, aubameyeng or mahrez but not vardy!

  3. Patrick Kambita says:

Vardy is a good choice only if backed by the signing of attacking midfielder like Mkhitaryan

  4. Brian says:

Give Chuba Akpom a chance he looks he can be very deadly all those strikers mentioned in the media they are not very special its just because someone believed in them when they were young so Arsenal should stop looking outside but promote its young stars lets make our own world class players its cheaper that way…

    • Delford Magaya says:

Brain, I agree with you 100 percent, the young boy is a brilliant striker, he only need time and he is very strong character, who always aim to score goals. It is high time we should not depend on buying only. We want our young players from the junior to be involved such as Iwobi, that is how a club will make their own world class players, as you mentioned, it is true that, its cheaper that way.

    • Nigel Benson says:

That’s exactly why we’ve made a bid for the 29-year-old Vardy. So the likes of Akpom can flourish.

  5. Raymond says:

I really do not understand the type of human being Wenger has proven to be in recent years. I feel sorry for some good players who play under vision less Wenger. Özil and Sanchez do find a club that will reward your efforts in football. Wenger FC is like buhari the unfortunate Nigerian president who doesn’t know what to do per time.

  6. Delford Magaya says:

Raymond, in response to your comment above, I totally disagree with you, those are not comments that should come from a true Arsenal supporter, why do you give such comments? Why do you want Ozil and Sanchez to find other clubs yet themselves are happy at Arsenal? Before you write something that will be read by millions of people, be reasonable enough to have SOUND IN MIND and know what to write. Those comments are not given by a true Arsenal supporters, who encourage our best players to join other clubs. I suspect you have an agenda with Wenger, which is something you should avoid, because you are an Arsenal supporter, you are not one of the board members or one of the management officials. My friend Raymond, football is not about what you think if you have never ever involved in football from the young age, you think it is very simple to run football and not knowing, there are a lot of things that you have to take into consideration, to be a good manager of a club like Arsenal, its not about winning trophies, its how you manage the club. Although Arsenal did not win any trophies, but in terms of finance and how they run the club, they were the best club, even in terms of generating revenue, they were the best club in England, they did better than the one who won the Premier League, that is how club should be managed. My advise to you, if you are an Arsenal true supporters, you should be reasonable enough to give encouragement ideas that would make the club, management and supporters adopt that idea, not to write something pathetic like your comments and you claim to be an Arsenal supporter, I totally disagree with you. You should show that you are a true Arsenal supporter, stop giving negative comments and bad ideas.

  7. Rukee says:

Vardy is a type of player Ozil and Sanchez would be happy playing with.Forget about the age he can give us at least 2 seasons of high level performance if not more.what I think we get should do after this deal is to sign a quality winger as well for the right wing instead of playing Ramsey there.the time of micromanaging is over

  8. Marley says:

Ozil and Sanchez are not happy at Arsenal! They are genuinly happy people. One is a real Muslim and the other is full of energy. So what you see is peace and love with these guys. As for Wenger he has to be seen as being active in the window so the cheap choice is Vardy. Wenger will always go for the cheaper option. No team plays football like Arsenal and maybe it would be too easy for us if we got a striker as good as Aubameyeng, Higuin,
or Zlatan. These type of players have too much character so therefore we should put our trust in players such as Akpom who i think would turn out to be better than Giroud, however that is why Afobe was sold! Giroud will always be number 1 as long as he is under Wenger!

  9. Mengu Sam says:

Iam impressed with Wenger’s decission to sign Vardy. Vardy to me is an ageing player but age doesn’t matters; What matters is the experience and capability to meet the all expected of him with. Following my observation Vardy has’nt reached the peak of his sport career, so we expect something positive when he comes to Arsenal.

  10. anthonyAkers says:

I wouldn’t mind us signing Vardy But we need someone to play with him instead of Giroud who is just not good enough we need to sell Walcott and replace him with a new winger when also need a Centre half to partner the Kos and also make Granit the new captain he captained his old club so why not Arsenal he would be a much more experienced captain than Koscelny

    • joe says:

If you are a proper arsenal fan, you would realise that the captain of arsenal is not Koscielny, it is Mertesacker

  11. Malaysian gunner says:

I say forget Vardy. He is holding Arsenal to ransom. He may have epl experience. On the other
hand he could be a one season wonder. There are many types of this around.
Could be a2nd Jeffers. You never know.,

  12. Sacho says:

I agree, Vary not god enough. World class is what we need.
There are too many second choice players at the Emirates.
Looking for a cheaper option will save money yes, but world class players like Ozil and Dances will leave the club in the summer if AW doesn’t buy quality. We all know quality is not cheap. Also we all don’t know what is the plan of the board as well.making profit is all good and well however this is football l, it’s a competition to be the best and that’s the team everybody want to play for. THE WINNING ONE.
we will have a better season next year. I know it.

  13. Alan Hodge says:

If Aubameyeng really does go to Man City – as touted in newspapers this week – I’d prefer Wenger to make a bid for Sergio Agüero. Hes 28 [so younger than Vardy] and a proven hitman over several seasons now and, would fit in with Arsenal’s style of play much better than Vardy.
Surely a player of Agüero’s quality would not be happy to play 2nd. fiddle to Aubameyeng?
I am sure he would not come cheap – but since when are Arsenal short of cash?

  14. Gab says:

Arsenal Fans Should be happy if he signs for the club. to me this is a total club transformation. The club need two more players

  15. Xaverio Muzhandu says:

I like your stance Delford about being true Arsenal supporters. Wishing our best players could go elsewhere is abominable. We are among the best Clubs on earth, that is why we have those players in. Yes, we have suffered the effects of the stadium, but that is now water under the bridge. That painful phase is over and we are almost done with the rebuilding of the team; we are in the final phase, bringing in the missing final blocks. And things are looking bright. I am convinced AW is looking at nothing short of quality, appropriate signings. If Vardy can replicate what he did and brings us silverware, so be it! TBH, I would also love to see Mkhitaryan and Mahrez in – that is 64goals worth of the trio! A top quality CB needed, GP will come good eventually, in my view. Giroud for me is the best backup any top team would cherish. Theo can go, we have got Chuba, he will give us more than Theo’s average of 5!

    • Delford Magaya says:

Xaverio Mushandu, thank you very much for the comment above, I agree with you on everything you said, whoever is true supporter of Arsenal will agree with your comments above. You quite right that, we are among the best, so we should continue to have the best. I hope what we are reading everyday about Mkhitaryan is going to happen, to say the truth Xaverio, I like Mkhitaryan, he is an attacking midfielder who can play as a striker as well, he is team player, he can provide others and tear off opposition defenses wish his accurate passes and I hope Wenger will act quickly to bring him to Arsenal.

  16. Shambala says:

We desperately need a top striker & Vardy meets with Wenger ‘ s budget . Top strikers like Auba & Higuan commands high prices which are not within Wenger ‘s liking. He loves his Giroud though the guy is not good enough ( 15 games without a goal from your chief striker? ). Morata hasn’t yet proved to be a top striker. Everyone wants an Arsenal which wins trophies not to be associated with mid table teams .

  17. Bonaroca says:

Bonaroca:- I read with interest most of the articles put forward mostly regarding the signing of Vardy. Admittedly he has scored 28 goals and helped obviously his team to win the Championship. But one has to bear in mind Arsenal play a quality game which may not fit with Vardy’s style of play. I have to admit and hopefully Mr Wenger realizes that he only needs noww just two (2) players a Central Defender and a top quality Centre Forward in other words a player with European experience to accommodate (or fit in with) Ozil and Sanches. Otherwise Mr.Wenger has enough quality players who are good replacement when the team’s top players need a breather or are injured.
The question mark now is a top young quality goalkeeper in case Cechz is injured. One emphasis I make is that no player should play more than 30 matches in a season. Arsenal could afford to do it , they have enough
quality players from the Academy. .

  18. JB says:

I would obviously prefer someone the caliber of Benzema or Higuain but I am prepared to give Vardy a chance. I don’t think he’s a major step up up over Giroud, but I think he’ll get a ton of easy goals from the creativity of Alexis, Ozil and Cazorla (if he can stay healthy). He also brings a certain grit that we seem to always lack. I think people are over-valuing Morata. He scored what – 12 goals – last season?

  19. abay feyissa says:

The more years a team stay without winning the league, the more the players, manager, fans … lose confidence
And when the confidence is low, the club has to work very hard to get it back. It might require changing manager, buying high quality players, selling players, etc
I felt that Arsenal has to get back it’s lost confidence by winning epl next season, otherwise the new coming managers, Gardiola, Mornho, klop, when they get one or two years at their clubs, might make arsenal’s life even more difficult, and confidence deteriorate. Quality players prefer to sign for clubs which shows them that they can win trophies with confidence. I am optimistic that the club we love most ,Arsenal, will be champions of England next season. I say this bc it appears that AW and the club are more aggressive in the transfer window earlier this season, and the two signings already done or nearly done are good ones in my opinion. We expect at least two world class players to be signed. I also believe that if arsenal can’t win epl or Ucl next season, it will and has to be the end for AW at Arsenal.
