Liverpool and Tottenham must reinforce the quality of their squads in the summer transfer window if they are to have any chance of winning the league title next season.
More importantly, both clubs must hold on to the key players and one Liverpool star who has turned into a vital figure under the management of Jurgen Klopp is Adam Lallana.
The 28-year-old England international is linked with a $29 million move to re-unite with Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham.
Lallana was the skipper of the impressive Southampton side managed by the Argentine boss and Pochettino is keen on signing the player he developed at the St. Mary’s.
This season, the Three Lions star has scored 7 goals and provided 8 assists in 47 games for the Merseysiders.
The versatile playmaker can play anywhere in the attacking third and will surely improve the quality of Tottenham up front. Spurs have already qualified for next season’s Champions League whereas Liverpool’s qualification depends on the Europa League final.
If the Reds failed to earn a place in the Europe’s elite competition, Lallana may find moving to White Hart Lane attractive.
The rumor has surely concerned Liverpool supporters who are worried about Lallana signing for Tottenham.
Here are a few tweets provided below.
Under Rodgers, Lallana might have left. But Klopp has made him important to Liverpool. He won’t leave. #Lallana #LFC

I’d hate to see Lallana leave, think he’s come on so much under Klopp, he’s a grafter & theres still massive room for improvement.

Litterly do not want Lallana to leave this summer! Been outstanding under Klopp

Lallana has improved under Klopp, in terms of pressing & running. But his goals & assist ratio are very similar to under Rodgers.

Adam Lallana goes to Spurs it’s almost guaranteed Götze joins, there’s no other reason to sell the handsome bastard. #LFC

Regarding Adam Lallana, if, after the incredible last few months, when he has been an integral part of a team that has been doing wonderful things in so many superb, atmospheric games he even considers leaving Liverpool then he has no heart, no feeling for the club and its supporters so, if that is the case, let him go.
I cannot believe that anybody could want to leave LFC when the future is so bright, when the fans are so wonderful and every game takes excitement to new levels. Could anybody ask for more than to represent Liverpool in games such as the ones against Dortmund and Villarreal? Is there an atmosphere at Tottenham? God knows! The aura of LFC, with YNWA to the fore and with hundreds of millions of fans, world-wide, is unmatchable, with Spurs well, well down the list regarding fan-bases. If anybody is mad enough to want to leave Anfield, anybody, let them go. The only way is DOWN for people who leave LFC! He’d be mad to want to go. I think he’ll want to remain to see the next phase of Operation Kloppy to its fruition. The future at Anfield is BRIGHT!
“The only way is DOWN for people who leave LFC! ”
Tell that to Suarez…
RED PHIL – interesting comments until you childishly questioned the atmosphere at Tottenham. Everyone claims their club is unmatchable for atmosphere and many would say that White Hart Lane has always been a cauldron for atmosphere. The only way is down for people who leave Liverpool? Ask Luis Suarez, Xabi Alonso or Raheem Sterling if they share that view. As for Operation Kloppy, your fans were crowing about Operation Rogers a few months back….and operation Woy…..and operation King Kenny…..
