Manchester United are looking to reinforce their central defense and if report are anything to go by then the Red Devils are weighing up a move for a proven central defender.
The player in discussion is Real Madrid star Pepe. Metro cite reports in the Spanish media claiming that the Old Trafford club are plotting a move worth 14.7 million pounds to secure the services of the Portuguese international from the Los Blancos.
Former Liverpool boss and current Real Madrid manager Rafael Benitez has only opted to start Pepe three times in the league as he mainly prefers Ramos and Varane in the central defense.
In such a scenario, leaving Madrid is the best option for Pepe and signing for Man United can surely be a brilliant prospect.
As far as Man United’s current central defense is concerned, Smalling has been the true leader for the Red Devils and he is arguably their best CB. If Pepe does join, he should partner Chris in the central defense.
Here is how Man United will line up with Pepe.
