Arsenal – Striker Deal Agreed, Playmaker Signing Close

Samir Nasri Van Persie ArsenalFormer captain Robin van Persie is the last Arsenal striker to have scored over 20 Premier League goals in a season.
Since his departure to Manchester United in 2012, the Gunners have not been able to sign a world class striker.
Giroud and Welbeck are decent forwards but the duo are far from the top quality needed upfront to win the title. Fortunately, the North Londoners are serious about signing a quality goalscorer this summer in the form of Real Madrid star Karim Benzema.
Karim Benzema v RomaAccording to reports, Benzema has agreed a four year contract with the Gunners. As far as the fee is concerned, Daily Mail claim that Arsenal may have to splash 45 million pounds to secure his services.
Moreover, the French international is not the only Real Madrid star Arsenal want this summer.
According to Spanish source Fichajes, manager Arsene Wenger has asked the Arsenal board to sign Russian playmaker Denis Cheryshev.
Denis-Cheryshev-Real-MadridThe Gunners have already made an offer of 14.9 million pounds to sign the 25-year-old attacker but Real Madrid want 15.3 million pounds.
Cheryshev had an impressive season on-loan with Villareal and can prove to be a quality signing for Arsenal this summer.
The Los Blancos will not really mind the departure of Denis as they already have top quality playmakers in the squad. However, if Benzema does leave the club, Benitez will have to find a world class replacement for the Les Bleus star.

Cant understand why Arsenal want another winger. They have Wellington Silva, Joel Campbell and have sent Gnabry in loan. Why the need for another winger. Should get a young defensive midfielder from somewhere to replace Flamini and Arteta when they are released next season.
