Last season, Barcelona youngster Adama Traore was highly impressive in the Segunda Division and has attracted interest from top clubs.
English giants and arch rivals Liverpool and Manchester United have been linked with the 19-year-old Spanish playmaker.
A week ago, Spanish source Fichajes reported that Red Devils’ boss Louis van Gaal is keen to secure the services of Traore who has a release clause of $16m in his contract.
However, the latest reports suggest that Merseysiders are the ones closing in to sign Traore.
According to Metro, Spanish outlet RAC1 claim that Liverpool’s senior officials have flown to seal deal for the Catalan star.
Traore featured in 37 league games in the Segunda Division last season, scored 3 goals and provided no fewer than 14 assists. The youngster also featured in the senior team twice and netted his first senior goal for the club.
As per the provided Metro link, the Reds are likely going to take him on-loan for a year with a view to make the deal permanent.
