Agreement in Principle Reached: Liverpool to Finalise Deal in Days

Brendan Rodgers LiverpoolLiverpool fans were horrified by the prospect of losing one of their key players in Martin Skrtel last month.
The Slovak was disappointed by the contract offer made by Reds and was thinking of considering other options.
However, the merseysiders will be delighted now that their best central defender is all set to sign a new deal with the club.
According to reports, Liverpool have already reached agreement in principle with the defender and the deal will be finalized in days once the star returns to training i.e. Monday.
As per the provided link, the 30 year old defender will sign a three year contract much to the delight of the Anfield faithful.
Liverpool have had defensive concerns under the management of Brendan Rodgers and could not have afford to lose their leader.
Reds have further reinforced their defense this summer with the signings of Joe Gomez and Nathaniel Clyne but it was pivotal to hold onto a top player like Martin Skrtel.
Rodgers has done most of his business early on to gel the players well before the new season. New playmaker signing Roberto Firmino though will return late because of his participation for Brazil in the Copa America.
The merseysiders should now focus on signing a top midfielder and a striker to further reinforce the squad for next season.
