Since Firmino’s agent claimed that the Brazilian will be joining a Premier League side, two clubs were mainly in the lime light for his signature.

Liverpool have officially confirmed the deal to sign Roberto Firmino from Hoffenheim and without a shadow of a doubt, Reds have signed a fantastic player.
Capable of playing anywhere in attack as well as a secondary striker or central forward, Firmino is someone who is regular scorer and creator of goals.
In his last 66 appearances for Hoffenheim, Firmino has directly contributed in no less than 45 goals in the past two seasons.
United have already signed one attacking playmaker in Memphis Depay but were eager to secure Firmino as well to amplify the quality of attack as they look to challenge for PL crown next season.
However, Man Utd fans are now acting in denial as if the club were never interested in signing the Selecao star who is currently in form for Brazil in the Copa America.

Maybe Liverpool already know they will be getting cash from the Sterling deal. It looks like they have already blown most of the Sterling money on one player and paid massively over the odds, but they have previous. Andy Carroll comets to mind.
