Spurs have already been busy with the transfers as they completed the signing of Kevin Wimmer from Bundesliga side Koln.
The 22 year old defender featured 34 times for the German club and may as well get straight into the starting line up of Tottenham. Here is how Spurs will line up with Wimmer.
However, Pochettino is well aware of the fact that the defense required more quality and depth and hence Spurs are chasing the signature of another star defender Aymen Abdennour of Monaco
The 25 year old Tunisian international is an experienced defender and has been key member of Ligue 1 side’s defense.
According to reports, Tottenham are closing in to sign the central defender having made concrete offer to secure the services of Abdennour.
As per the provided link, his agent claimed:
“Given the season that Aymen had, there is interest from all over the world. We have received calls from clubs and sporting directors, but for now nothing [has been decided]”
“Clubs like Valencia, Newcastle, Tottenham, Inter Milan and Wolfsburg have called. We have received concrete offers from these teams, and they are really interested in Aymen.”
Valencia and Wolfsburg will be taking part in Champions League next season as well so Aymen may find those destinations more attractive after playing in the CL with Monaco this season.
Monaco were ousted by Juventus in the quarter finals of Champions League. The main concern with Aymen is that he has missed quite a few games with injuries. We shall see how the transfer saga unfolds in the summer.
