Manchester United arguably produced their best performance of the season beating Tottenham 3-0 at Old Trafford.
United were dominant from the word go and for the first time looked as a team that others should fear.
In the past few weeks, United have scraped out victories but were hardly impressive. However, it was a completely different story versus Spurs.
The top performance came at the right time before the crunch contest next weekend against Liverpool who are only 2 points behind their rivals sitting in 5th place.
Out of form record signing Angel Di Maria was out of the Spurs game because of suspension for grabbing referee against Arsenal in the FA Cup.
The question is, will van Gaal bring back the Argentine attacker in the starting XI against Liverpool or not?
In all honesty, the former Benfica winger is clearly out of form. Even in the victories against Sunderland and Newcastle, Di Maria had to be taken off to change the game.
Juan Mata was brought back into the starting XI and although he was not really very influential against Spurs but gelled in the system well with Fellaini and Young in attack, more than Di Maria.
Adding to that, he was part of the winning combination last weekend and Louis van Gaal must not change that to bring back Angel Di Maria.
For now, Angel Di Maria should have no place in the starting XI vs Liverpool and may as well start on the bench until he earns his place back.
