Arsenal are closing in to finally sign the all important defender in the form of Gabriel Paulista.
According to Daily Star, the Brazilian international has given the green light to sign for Arsenal and all that remains is a fee to be met with Villareal.
The El Madrigal club are not ready to let their prized asset leave for cheap while Arsene as always wants to pay as less as possible.
As per the provided link, Arsenal are only willing to pay £6 million for the 24 year old central defender while Villareal are demanding £15m.
It is baffling if Arsenal lose out on Paulista signing because of the price tag.
£6 million is a ridiculous offer taking into consideration the current inflated market and the Samba star is definitely worth more.
Villareal are fighting to earn the final Champions League qualification spot and it makes complete sense if they do not let their top defender leave if the asking price is not met.
Arsenal should not waste more time as the January transfer window is nearing its end and must splash the cash to hire the services of much needed defender.
Gabriel Paulista himself wants a move to Emirates and failure to secure him will be massive blow for the Gunners who clearly lack quality and depth in central defense.
