Manchester United's $20m Solution for Defensive Dilemma

It will be fair to say that the Red Devils showed their best defensive display of the season thus far against Blues.
However, there is no doubt that they lack top quality players at the heart of their defense and must sign them in winter.
Not many World Class players are available when the season is going on and surely signing them will be hard as well.
Louis van Gaal’s ideal signing for the defensive dilemma was going to Mats Hummels of Borussia Dortmund.
The German international opted to stay put with his current club and it is highly unlikely that Hummels will look to depart in midseason with Dortmund set to feature in the KO rounds of the Champions League this season.
BvB are not doing good in domestic football Mats may think about joining new club next summer. That long United cannot wait or else they may end up finishing out of top 4 yet again.
Hence the Old Trafford club is eyeing a cheaper alternative with $20m rated Stoke star Ryan Shawcross as the solution to current defensive dilemma.
Not sure many United supporters will be overwhelmed to hear his name linked but the club might not have many quality options abroad in winter and Shawcross seems a decent choice.
Ryan has played as a key defender for the Stoke City over the years, a side renowned to be very tough to break.
