Man United Set to Reinforce Defense by Signing PL Star

Manchester United are in dire need of defenders at the moment but sadly they will have to wait for winter transfer window to sign stars.
Louis van Gaal spent majority of the funds in strengthening attack while defense and midfielder department were not adequately reinforced.
Currently, United have Smalling, Jones and Evans out with injury. Also young Blackett is suspended and the defense remains shaky.
The Red Devils were thrashed against Leicester and were lucky to earn all points against West Ham who were not clinical enough upfront.
LvG must sign top defenders in the January transfer window but luring quality players that too in mid season without Champions League football is going to be very difficult.
Although United fans are still dreaming of Mats Hummels to join them but the possibility of Dortmund captain leaving his club for United in January is highly unlikely when he himself opted to stay put in summer.
Moreover, it is likely that Dortmund would have qualified for the CL knockout phase and he can surely wait for next summer for any possible moves.
Hence, according to reports, Manchester United are set to reinforce their defense by signing a premier league star. The player in discussion is West Ham United’s center half Winston Reid.
The 26 year old had an injury hit last season but was effective when on the field. Of 22 games in which Reid featured, West Ham kept 9 clean sheets.
The All Whites star will come for cheap in winter since his contract with the Hammers is going to expire next summer. Surely, United cannot wait for that.
