Another new season but Arsenal’s problem remain the same. Despite signing few key stars in the summer window, gunners are still getting hurt because of vital injuries.
Now that the window is closed, the only way Arsenal can sort the problem is by securing signings of free agent and it seems they are ready to do exactly that.
They clearly needed a strong defensive midfielder in the summer with Flamini and Arteta not up to the required level. However, they failed in doing so.
First choice striker Olivier Giroud is out for long and so is Debuchy, hence Arsenal are lacking options in almost every department except playmaking.
Against Dortmund, Arsenal were literally ripped apart by the Germans almost at will. Gunners clearly lacked a defensive cover in their midfield that Jurgen Klopp’s men exploited really well.
According to reports, Arsenal are ready to secure the transfer of former gunner, Chelsea and Real Madrid midfielder Lassana Diarra who is currently a free agent and the move might be imminent.
The French star could only feature in 7 league games for the gunners back in 2007-2008 and did not impress. Two seasons later, he was playing as a key member of Los Blancos.
Although, there is no doubt that Diarra’s best days are behind him but what other options do Arsenal have at this moment.
It will be fair to say that with Diarra Arsenal will be taking a gamble but at this moment it is one that they just have to take.

Why do people insist on re-writing history? He played well at Arsenal but his path was blocked by Flamini who was playing incredibly well, easily the best destructive midfielder around that season. Diarra left because he was desperate to play and proved himself a top player at Portsmouth. I have no idea how well he’s been playing recently but he was an excellent DM at that time.
Diaby ready to come back trained all summer played full match under 21 this option
Diarra was a great prospect. He signed for us from Chelsea for 1st team football, but was impatient and so moved on again.
Unless he has had a serious injury I’m unaware of, at 29 he should still be very capable of doing a job for us for the next 3/4 years. The talent has always been there, but impatience and the refusal to merely be a squad player has hampered his career.
I can’t decide if his desire to play is an admirable trait or a negative one.
With his availability due to being a free agent, on paper, it looks like a great move for both parties.
Who cares? Up man utd. Just hang on, we are coming with full force
