• Meanwhile captain Bruno and Pablo Iñíguez also missed the win over Getafe at the weekend and remain doubtful.
• Marcelino will hope that the former is fit to marshal the midfield given that a number of other key players could be missing.

• Key midfielder Christoph Kramer has a back problem, forcing him out of the weekend's defeat to Frankfurt along with veteran centre-back Martin Stranzl (thigh), and both will be assessed ahead of the trip to Villarreal.
• Fabian Johnson is back available having trained this week but Mahmoud Dahoud will be out for some time yet.
• These two sides sit in the top two spots of Group A but know that defeat here could allow FC Zurich to give themselves a real chance of progressing with a win over bottom club Apollon Limassol.
• The two shared the spoils in their group opener and were it not for a number of potential key absentees the home side would probably look to make that advantage count on Thursday.
