Manchester United are ready to battle top clubs to lure Colombian and Monaco superstar James Rodriguez.
The 22 year old boy is currently the hottest prospect in world football as the former Porto playmaker ignited the World Cup.
Colombia were eliminated by hosts Brazil but James Rodriguez remains firm favorite to win the golden boot having netted 6 goals, 2 more than his nearest rivals. He may as well win player of the tournament as well.
Such performances are the reason why so many top clubs are ready to splash heavy sum to sign him this summer.
Real Madrid and Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing James who was only transferred to Monaco last summer for a huge fee as well.
It seems that Manchester United are the ones ready to act swiftly for his signature as according to reports, United are set to launch a £65m bid for the youngster.
Last season, in all competitions, he scored 10 goals and also provided 14 assists.
As per the provided link, the above mentioned price is just the initial offer as Red Devils are even ready to give heavy bonuses that could take the deal to over £90m.
Such an offer is hardly going to be rejected by Monaco but the final decision rests with the player. James has lately admired both premier league and La Liga but also claimed that he wants to stay at Monaco. We shall see how the transfer saga unfolds this summer.

I don’t believe United are even remotely interested – There’s just a connection made because he’s the top scorer at the WC, and United are spending properly for the first time ever.
Over €75m spent on Herrera and Shaw. United know that without CL football they just have to spend over the odds to sign top players paying huge fees and huge wages. Is that what you call Proper Spending?
Chelsea got Costa and Fabregas for less
Not sure about this guy. He may be a great player for Columbia, but playing in the Premier League against the likes of Bolton and Birmingham is very different to the Dutch league he is very used of. I reckon we give Nania bit of time and see what type of player he turns into be for us.
He can’t be more worst than Kagawa, Fellaini, Anderson, Bebe, Cleverly and Nani!
lol you forgot to include Young and valencia. UTD need to get rid of them player and put on fresh blood to reboot the squad and replace them lots with quality players, then they will be able to challenge for the title. Can’t wait for world cup to end so that Van Gaal start kicking the dead woods out and add to innovate the UTD team.
I think Man utd needs to sell lot of their players especially if the want to compete for title and bring lot of cups, bringing in qualities players will be more better, attackers, improve the midfield and buy class defenders can push them for title challenge this new season
How many more chances do you want Nani to be given? He alway’s lived in Ronaldo’s shadow and when Ronaldo for Real Madrid i recall Sir Alex giving him the chance to take over. But Nani failed under the best coach, who turned Ronaldo into the world’s best. Disrespectful Nani then openly holded Sir Alex and United for a pay rise, and still Fergie stuck by him. Nani then gave Fergie bad attitude and performed bad, i still recall that carling cup tie against in which he only had ti hold on to the ball late during injury time but he again went selfish. Then Mr Moyes came and gave him another chance by renewing him a new deal which many would believe he did not deserve. Nani then failed to perform in the games he did feature ans had his fare share of injuries. I hope Van Gaal gets rid of for himnif it brings Vidal!
Who told you that Kagawa is not still a good player. Okay if man united send him back to Dortmund then we shall know the truth about him. He is still a good player all you can say is that united is familiar with his football style.
You can’t even spell properly… United should rather leave Rodriguez because he does not play like premier league material. They should rather use their money on Vidal and try and buy Juan Cuadrado.
Rodriguez does not play in the Dutch League! He plays in Ligue 1 with AS Monaco
They can use their money for a few defenders lie De Vrij , Martins Indi and Mats Hummels and they can even make a bid for Real Madrids Di Maria
Not worth the money. They got enough firing power. Spent more on defender please
So you think in Valencia, Young, Nani, (Flops) Kagawa, Anderson, Bebe and Cleverly United have enough fire. Even though the above mentioned players might play in different positions than James (minus Kagawa) i still believe United should get rid of all the old, young (Deadwoods) and bring in James, 22, Vidal and Hummels!
Man utd should not buy James rodrigues because if they buy him they just waste their money. If James is in English premier league he will not Performed the way he performed at Monaco Colombia. Now i will advise lvg to buy Di Maria or sanches .only Di Maria can play man utd left wing
For starter’s it’s not Columbia it’s Colombia. secondly: How do you know James would not make it in the premier league? Are you some sort of a professional scout or jesus christ himself who predicts the future 100% correctly. Remember when Ronaldo came to the epl, all skinny and weak, and many footballing pundits and fans (like yourself) doubted he would make it here at Bolton, Wimbledon and Arsenal, but look how he performed in the premier league and left United as the world’s best. James also has the ability to become the world’s best, but may take a season or two (like Ronaldo did) to find his feets and adapt to the premier league!
Nani is better than james.
Nani better than James Rodriguez? Your talking out of your A!! Take a look at James performances in the wc and that of Nani!
GET James Rodrigues !!!!! He is a definite future World Player of the Year. Don’t worry about him not performing in the Premier League, the way he got kicked all over the pitch against Brazil, he was still the best player on the pitch. And don’t worry about the money !!! Whose money is it anyway ?? The Glaziers or the Taxmans !!!! Get it spent !!!! Come on Woodward make ManU a superpower again……….And soon. !!!!!
We can get 3 quality players for £90m
James is a good player. But that money is too much. £90m we can buy 4 good players. Buying james for £90m is a waste of money. Lvg buy Di maria, vidal,or carvalho, hummel n sanchez. Sell tom cleverley, anderson, ashley young, fellani n welbeck. Give powel, zaha, wilson, jessy n some other academic graduates.
Carling cup tie against Chelsea.
Too much money so can’t believe, media talk nothing more as it’s doubtful he wants to come in the first place.
like I have been saying all along, James Rodriguez is an outrageously talented young man. He will definitely not come cheap. Bot at the same time the numbers being thrown for his transfer seem some what exaggerated. what we have here is a gem, so Man U must flex their financial muscle and put in motion their top negotiation skills to secure the services of James Rodriguez.
I don’t know your problem you this people, did united came to your bank to loan money to buy players? why are you concern how we spent our money, mind you it’s our money we have more enough so let us spend it, you enermy of progress, you are afraid that the way united are coming they may likely win all trophies. Leave united oooo let them sign whoever they like and as many as possible.
Where will he play? For we already have rooney in that position.
please you sign Memphis Depay and Alex Sanchez for less than that price for single player otherwise James and Di Maria their strengths and ability will not suit in premier league despite of their good skills they will end up like Kagwa
No way on this planet would United shell out that kind of money for a playmaker/winger when they have Mata,Rooney,Kagawa Janusai all fighting for the position he would fill, load of old B-locks this one !!!!
