Arsenal midfielder close to penning fresh three-year deal

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is reportedly close to committing his future to the Gunners on a fresh three-year contract. The Englishman’s current deal is due to expire at the end of June but it appears that the club have found a breakthrough in the negotiations.
According to Evening Standard, the 26-year-old could be prepared to end his long-standing contract saga as he nears a three-year extension worth £100,000-a-week with the north London giants.
Earlier last season, Wilshere was urged to take a £30,000 paycut on his £120,000-a-week wages and this was something which he was not in favour of with the proposal being highly incentivised.
However, the Gunners’ hierarchy appear to have since upped their contract offer and Wilshere is now seemingly keen on penning a three-year deal with the option of a further 12 months, should the club be interested.
Wilshere managed to have a decent 2017/18 campaign where he made 38 appearances across all competitions and one of the main positives were that he did not succumb to a major injuries.
Despite this, Wilshere could not make the England national squad for the summer World Cup and much of this culminated from the fact that his form was pretty average towards the end of the campaign.
Nevertheless, Wilshere is reported to have snubbed from several high-profile clubs including Juventus and he now appears set to extend his stay with the hometown side where he began his youth career from the age of nine.
Apart from Wilshere,the future of Aaron Ramsey also remains a concern for the Gunners with his contract expiring in 12 months’ time. The Welshman was recently named as the club’s Player of the Year for the 2017/18 season but talks over a probable extension are yet to proceed.
