Premier League [Preview]: Manchester United vs Arsenal

Manchester United entertain Arsenal in Sunday’s Premier League clash at Old Trafford. The Red Devils come off a good run of form which has witnessed their progress into the FA Cup final, and they now have the opportunity to cement the second position in the standings.
Jose Mourinho’s side are currently three points ahead of third-placed Liverpool with a game in hand and a victory over Arsene Wenger’s side would put them within the cusp of acquiring the runner-up spot. On the contrary, the Gunners are primed for a sixth-placed league finish and they are likely to make changes this weekend with a view to their Europa League commitments against Atletico Madrid.
Players to watch for:
Romelu Lukaku – Manchester United: While the main focus will be on Alexis Sanchez against his ex-club, the Gunners may have to be wary of the threat Lukaku possesses upfront. The Belgian has regularly been criticised for his reduced impact against top-six opposition but he has improved on this statistic in 2018 with match-defining performances versus Liverpool and Chelsea. The visitors have picked up no points and clean sheets on their travels in the calendar year and Lukaku has a good opportunity to better his 29-goal tally.
Alexandre Lacazette – Arsenal: Just like Lukaku, Lacazette came for stick during the middle part of the season where he struggled to find the scoresheet at regular intervals. However, much of this seems to have been associated with a knee problem for which the Frenchman underwent a surgery in February. The 26-year-old has since scored seven goals in as many appearances and was on the scoresheet against United in December, though in a losing cause. Lacazette has scored 16 goals during the current campaign.
Prediction:
Manchester United have generally dominated this fixture in history and the game could lean the same way with Arsenal likely to make multiple changes to their starting lineup. United may not dominate the possession statistic but they should come up triumphs by a comfortable scoreline.
Manchester United 3-1 Arsenal
