Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial start, 4-2-3-1: Predicted Manchester United to face Bournemouth

Manchester United make the trip to the Vitality Stadium to face Bournemouth in Wednesday’s league game. The Red Devils suffered a shocking 1-0 home defeat to West Bromwich Albion last weekend, and they will be aiming to return to winning ways ahead of their FA Cup semi-final clash against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Spain international David de Gea has been the undisputed pick for the Premier League duties this term. The shot-stopper has kept 16 clean sheets in the top-flight this season, and he will be eyeing to extend this record on the south Coast.
In the defence, Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young are genuine contenders to start in the right and left-back positions respectively, and no changes are expected with the game still having significance in United’s quest to finish in the runner-up position.
However, we are anticipating a new partnership at the heart of the backline with Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling probably being rested for the Wembley showdown. In their places, Marcos Rojo and Victor Lindelof could earn some much-needed gametime.
Onto the midfield, Nemanja Matic is another candidate, who may be rested with a view to the Spurs game. The Serbian has been one of United’s most reliable players in the top-flight, but Mourinho could do with a fresher mind against Spurs.
In his absence, Scott McTominay is a strong contender to make the first XI, and we are backing the Scot to partner Ander Herrera. Herrera has brought the tenacity in United’s midfield since his injury comeback, and he could get the nod over Paul Pogba, who may be offered a run-out from the bench.
Further forward, Romelu Lukaku could be rested, and this may bring both Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford into the fray for selection. The pair have mostly been used off the bench in recent times, but the Cherries game should suit them with Eddie Howe’s side normally tending to play with an attack-minded approach.
Alexis Sanchez is a strong candidate to slot into his regular left-wing role with Martial on the right, whilst Jesse Lingard could reclaim the number 10 role, where he has excelled over the course of the campaign. The England international has netted eight goals in just 17 league starts for the club (whoscored).
Barring the Cup games earlier in the season, Rashford has barely started upfront. Despite this, the youngster may earn a chance to impress as the lone striker on Wednesday night. The 20-year-old has started just a solitary league game in 2018, and that resulted in a 2-1 win over Liverpool in which he scored an excellent first-half brace.
