Arsenal interested in £35m-rated Juventus defender

Arsenal are reportedly looking into a move for long-term target Daniele Rugani whose Juventus future remains uncertain beyond the summer. The Italy international has not been a regular starter under Massimiliano Allegri, and has featured in just 18 of the Bianconeri’s 34 league games this term.
According to Calciomercato, the 23-year-old could be pushed to pursue a new challenge in the summer after finding himself behind the likes of Giorgio Chiellini, Andrea Barzagli and Mehdi Benatia in the pecking order for a central defensive role.
As a result, the Italian is understood to be attracting interest from long-term admirers Arsenal, though the north London side have to pay up a sum of at least £35m to pursue his services.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has often been reluctant to spend massive sums on defensive recruits but this trend is likely to change in the coming months with the Frenchman due to exit the club.
Wenger has already confirmed that he would be ending his 22-year association with the Gunners during the summer and the arrival of a new head coach is likely to spur a spending spree on the defensive department, in particular.
Over the course of the 2017/18 season, the Gunners have been an exciting club to watch in regards to their attack-minded approach but this has often caught them short at the back with Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi struggling to impress.
As a result, Rugani seems to have emerged as a probable target with his excellent passing and concentration attributes, though a summer deal could be delayed until Juventus find a resolution over Allegri’s future.
Allegri has been on the radar of both Arsenal and Chelsea of late and the Bianconeri appear keen on solving the manager’s future first before dealing on the uncertainty over their first-team players.
