Premier League [Preview]: Manchester United vs Liverpool

Jose MourinhoManchester United host Liverpool in Saturday’s eagerly-anticipated Premier League game at Old Trafford.
Jose Mourinho’s side secured a dramatic 3-2 comeback win over Crystal Palace on Monday night, and this preserved their two-point lead over Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, who are presently third in the Premier League standings. As a result, this weekend’s game has more importance than in previous times with the winner potentially strengthening the chance of finishing in the runner-up spot for the campaign.
Players to watch for:
Romelu Lukaku – Manchester United: The Belgium international has improved on his performances as the season as gone on. Lukaku recently plenty of stick for his poor record against the top-six, but he managed to answer a few critics with his man-of-the-match performance versus Chelsea which included a goal and assist. Since then, he has found the scoresheet during United’s 3-2 triumph over Palace, and he comes into the game with the expectations of the fans. Lukaku was guilty for missing a clear-cut chance during the goalless draw at Anfield earlier this term, and he has the perfect chance to make amends with another top showing upfront.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – Liverpool: While Mohamed Salah has been earning most of the plaudits, Oxlade-Chamberlain has been one of the unsung heroes in the Liverpool shirt this term. Under the guidance of Jurgen Klopp, the Englishman has transformed into a quality central midfielder, capable of threading-in key passes. Oxlade-Chamberlain has grabbed an assist in each of his previous two league appearances, and the latter came against Newcastle United, where he put Salah clear through on goal. With Liverpool’s attacking brand of football, the United backline may need to keep a close eye on ‘The Ox’ behind the attacking trident.
Prediction:
Manchester United and Liverpool have played out draws in the last four meetings, and knowing by Jose Mourinho’s big-game tactics, he would surely want to avoid a home defeat.
Manchester United 1-1 Liverpool
