Ox Benched – Liverpool's Strongest Possible 4-3-3 XI vs Man City

Liverpool signed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal on deadline day and we can expect him to be in the squad when the Reds face Manchester City away from home on 9th September.
The England international played for the Gunners vs the Merseysiders in his last game before completing his move to the Anfield club.
After the opening game draw vs the Hornets, Klopp’s men have won four games on the trot. Therefore, the German manager should not really change the winning combination, he must keep Ox on the bench and bring him on later in the game for his debut.

The likes of Mane, Firmino and Salah have been utterly brilliant for the team so far. The trio have regularly scored goals and provided assists in the current campaign and should get the nod to start.
As far as the midfield is concerned, Can, Wijnaldum and Henderson were top class in the last game and should retain their places as well.
Robertson scored a beautiful goal for Scotland recently and he should replace Moreno in the starting XI to strengthen the defense. The Spanish international is more of an attack minded player and he may return to start vs Sevilla in the Champions League.
Here is Liverpool’s strongest possible 4-3-3 XI vs Man City.

Yes. But would prefer Mignolet return between the sticks. Alexanda could replace Gomes.

  2. Oscar Soomah says:

Dats true, let Mignolet get the gloves & Trent as rb

the OX can come from the bench no problem bt i share Kaziro’s view point, Trent should replace Gomez. And IF Coutinho could put aside his ego and come back to training in time , i would prefer him to Can. swap Gini with Can so that Coutinho playes LM, he should come back with full force into the squad , after all, we pay his Wages not Barca as for Karius ,ofcoz we Got the clean sheet last week bt its only because of little to poor finishing from Arsenal and he (Karius) looked shaky against Arsenal , he’s jst error prone , if i was Klop, l would’t risk playing Karius in such an important fixture , i mean like we all know what Aguero and Gabriel can do in front of goal…. this is a very different City squad with many new faces , its not the usual City that we used to thrash … Pep upped his game , it wont be easy, but at the end of the day i still fancy the Reds to take all three from the Ethihand outfit.

Coutinho can not start in this kind of high profile match giving his psychological state. There is no doubt Coutinho will come back to take his place in the midfield but I don’t think can should go to the bench for him. I think either Gini or Hendo should do that because Can in recent times has grown into a complete midfielder and his contributions are effective. It will not be wise to dampen the spirit of such a player who is evolving at such a high rate.

In defence, it should be Matip, Gomez, Robertson and TAA for a start. Going forward should be Firminio, MS and SM. In the midfield, let there be absence of Coutinho. I suspect him.
