Liverpool were ripped apart by Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium yesterday and the fans are rightly furious.
The Reds started the game well but their poor defense helped City take the lead. To make matters worse, August’s Premier League Player of the Month, Sadio Mane, was shown straight red and after that, the Merseysiders collapsed.
Jurgen Klopp has been at the club for quite some time now but he has not been able to solve the defensive concerns.

In four transfer windows, the German manager has only spent 5 million euros (BBC) to sign one center half in the form of Ragnar Klavan, who has proved to be an average defender.
Klopp’s most consistent defender, Matip, was brought on a free transfer and the Cameroonian does not have a strong central defensive partner.
Not to forget, Jurgen did not even use Sakho last season and the French defender was sold this summer to Crystal Palace. Moreover, they failed to lure Virgil van Dijk as well.
After yesterday’s 5-0 hammering against the Sky Blues, some of the Liverpool fans turned against Jurgen Klopp for the never ending defensive conundrum. A few reactions on twitter are provided below.
Aside that His arrogance will cost him…sold Sakho but kept Klavan..smh

He did not read the team well as he did not know the team’s needs to strengthen the line of defense pic.twitter.com/vSSmc0ltEU

Klopp’s defensive selections are always horrendous. Wonder why Joe Gomez was left out.
