Virgil will Sign and be Given Squad Number by Liverpool Soon – Former Journalist

Liverpool have to strengthen their back line by signing a top quality central defender and Van Dijk would perfectly fit the bill.
The Southampton star has been linked with the Merseysiders all summer long and according to former journalist Ian McGarry, who has covered work for BBC and is a Transfer Window podcast guest, Virgil will be a Liverpool player come next Thursday and will already have a shirt number as well (via Daily Star).
Ian said:
“By this time next week (Thursday) Van Dijk will already be given a squad number by Liverpool and that’s where he’ll be playing his football this season.”
“Van Dijk has seen himself in the red jersey of Liverpool.”

The Dutch international has already submitted an official transfer request to leave the Saints this summer and it will not come as any surprise if he moves to Anfield before the deadline ends.
Yesterday, we covered a report (via Independent) claiming that Southampton are perhaps waiting for Liverpool to sell Coutinho so that they can demand a huge fee for Virgil which might be over $103million.
The Merseysiders have already conceded four goals in the first two games of the new seasons and if they do not sort out the back line this summer then Klopp can forget about winning the Premier League title.
