Liverpool have been interested in signing Virgil van Dijk from the Saints all summer long and it will be intriguing to see if the move will happen before the transfer deadline ends on Thursday evening.
The Netherlands star submitted an official transfer request but Southampton have been adamant and want to hold on to him.
Now, according to an exclusive report covered by the Irish Independent, the former Celtic center half is pushing to force through a £70million ($90million) move to Liverpool and for that he has changed his agent in order to break the terms of contract he sealed last summer with the Saints.

The Irish source have mentioned that the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in signing him as well but the Dutch star favors a move to Anfield and that has been mentioned by other sources on several occasions this summer (Mail).
Virgil had an injury hit campaign last term and he could feature 30 times in all competitions under the management of Claude Puel.
Back in January, he suffered a foot injury that made him miss the second half of the last season.
As per the provided Irish Independent link, even after changing the agent, the Saints are not prepared to let him leave. We shall see how the transfer saga unfolds in the coming days.

It is simple, we get another centre back and a new keeper and we will mount a challenge. If we don’t, we won’t.
In an ideal world we’d get a defensive midfielder as well. Don’t care too much if we get van Dijk or Howedes as long as we can get a top-notch CB to take control of the defence.
It must also be mentioned that if we can attack, with such devastating width and speed WITHOUT Coutinho . . . and if we COULD get £130m for him . . . I am now seriously wondering if we’d miss him???????
