Liverpool owners came up with a very strong statement today and confirmed that the club are not going to sell Philippe Coutinho this summer.
The Brazilian international has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona and our team believes that FSG are perhaps following Torres Case to send Coutinho out of Liverpool
On January 28, 2011, Liverpool confirmed (twitter) that the Spanish international is not for sale. Torres then submitted an official transfer request. Next day, the Merseysiders came up with another statement rejecting Torres’ official transfer request.

We all know what happened next. On deadline day, Fernando left the Anfield club to join Chelsea. The current Atletico forward came up and stated that he was made the scapegoat and presented as a traitor when actually the owners were guilty (Mirror).
“Liverpool could not admit they were doing something wrong with the whole team. They had to find a guilty one.”
As per Torres, FSG tried to look good and blamed him. The same might happen in the case of Coutinho as well.
The events going on right now are very similar to what happened in 2011. Few hours after confirming that the Reds will not sell Coutinho, Sky Sports have confirmed that the former Inter Milan star has submitted an official transfer request.
FSG have failed to strengthen a few key Liverpool departments in this summer transfer window. Phil has always been a professional but it will not come as any surprise if Coutinho departs. If he is eventually sold, who will the fans blame?
