Liverpool desperately need to sort out their back line by signing a top center half before the summer transfer window ends in a few days.
The Merseysiders have already conceded 6 goals in their first 4 games of the new campaign and Dejan Lovren has been very poor.
Liverpool are linked with German international Benedikt Howedes. Few days back, we covered a report (via DW Sport) claiming that Klopp is interested in signing the World Cup Winner.
More recently, reports in Italy suggest that Schalke are looking to do business with Liverpool.

According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport (press image provided below), the 29-year-old central defender wants to join Juventus but the offer made by the Italians is worth 10 million euros. The Serie A champions look to loan him for a season and then sign him on a permanent basis.
However, the Italian source suggest that the Bundesliga side are looking to get the maximum amount this summer and are hoping to sell the player to Liverpool for a fee of 20 million euros ($24million).
Howedes has been brilliant for the national side over the years and has the quality to strengthen Liverpool’s weak defense. Matip used to partner the Kaiser when he was at Schalke and that partnership could be reinstated at Anfield.
